There was barely a dry eye in the Big Brother house on Saturday afternoon after housemates got to spend half an hour watching messages from friends and family.
The group won the opportunity to watch the videos after Kemal successfully completed yesterdays mastermind task by correctly answering nine out of the ten brainteasers set to him by the shows producers.
And although cry-baby Craig and Vanessa both wept during their videos, it was the message from Kemal's family which even managed to move Derek to tears.
An emotional Kemal, who had feared his parents might be upset following revelations about his sexuality, cried with relief when their supportive message was played.
The flamboyant belly dancer, who disappeared into the bedroom for a good blub, was soon joined by Derek.
"I just wanted to say how proud I am of you," the normally emotionally restrained Tory speechwriter gushed.
"It was so touching."
Kemal sobbed: "That was much more than I thought I'd ever get."
"That was the most amazing thing ever."
Meanwhile, Dereks bizarre mission to turn Science into a sensitive young gentleman appears to be failing.
Visiting the diary room on Saturday night he confessed he had given up trying to coach Science in the ways of refinement after his reluctant pupil stole his cigar on Friday.
"There's a time when you say, 'up with this I cannot put any longer'. I believe that time is now," Derek declared.
But not wishing to give up on Science entirely, Derek insisted that he intended to foist some self-help books on his housemate.
"I intended to purchase a number of books that have much influenced my life and I thought he would enjoy," he explained.
"It's up for him to decide whether he wants to read them or burn them."
