Jude Law looks likely to star in a remake of the 1949 classic "All the King's Men".
Law is set to play Jack Burden - first played by "Spartacus" star John Ireland - in the re-make.
The first version of the film won the "big three" Academy awards, best actor in a leading role, best actress in a leading role and best picture.
In the film Law's character is a journalist who falls under the spell of populist politician Willie Stark.
Sean Penn is expected to play Stark, the role that won Broderick Crawford the 1950 best actor Oscar.
Steven Zaillian, who won an Academy Award for his work on "Schindler's List", will direct the film based on his own adaptation of Robert Penn Warren's original novel.
