New family of troublemakers move to the Square

EastEnders is getting a new family, described by the BBC as "trouble".

More conflict and shouting is soon to be seen and heard around Albert Square as the London soap gets a new family, described by the BBC as "trouble".

The Millers - father Keith, mother Rosie and their teenage twins - will move into 27 Albert Square at the beginning of September.

Those more observant soap addicts will have spotted that there is already a Miller on the Square - Mickey Miller, the 'loveable rogue' has appeared in the soap since October 2003.

According to the BBC within a fortnight the unruly rabble manage to set fire to one of Walford's most sacred landmarks, steal from the market, break into the Slater's house and fight with the Square's matriarch Pauline Fowler.

EastEnders' executive producer Louise Berridge said: "I'm delighted to introduce the Miller family, who will be joining Mickey on Albert Square in September, but I warn you - this lot are trouble.

"Even the dog is dodgy. They're set to cause havoc all over the Square and by the end of their first week the sparks will be flying - literally."

The family's introduction follows a recent survey in The Mirror newspaper, which suggested that 57 per cent of EastEnders viewers thought the soap had lost its appeal.
