Autumn of 2013 will mark the period when the third installment of the beloved novels Bridget Jones will come out. The novels, which are about Bridget and her haphazard love life, are able to capture the attention of millions of readers worldwide.
The first two Bridget Jones novels were a huge success. Bridget Jones’ Diary, which was published in 1996, and the Edge of Reason, published in 1999, were both international best sellers and together are understood to have sold 15million copies.
Dan Franklin, a publisher at Jonathan Cape, said: “Great comic writers are as rare as hen’s teeth. Helen is one of a very select band who have created a character, Bridget, of whom the very thought makes you smile. Like millions of others, I can’t wait to see what’s happened to her.”
It is believed there is no title yet however, and it has been confirmed that Helen Fielding will not be doing 50 Shades of Grey type of sex scenes.
She said, as reported by The Telegraph: “If ever I wrote a sex scene, I would send it to friends for feedback – different passages to different friends – and, honestly, I’d never hear the end of it. I would always be hearing little references to it slipped into conversation – how embarrassing – so now I just don’t do it.”
