Neon Roberts should have treatment, High Court says
A judge ruled on Tuesday that the boy Neon Roberts should receive cancer treatment

Neon Roberts, the boy who finds himself at the centre of a dispute, is expected to have surgery and is being urged to receive treatment. The ruling came from a High Court judge on Tuesday, with regards to the youngster having a cancerous tumour.
This is despite his mother’s wishes as Sally Roberts, aged 37, has expressed she wants to seek further medical advice. It is thought that her son Neon has a tumour that is around 2cm large.
The court heard that it would be best not to stall the decision, with the judge saying; “We do not have the luxury of time”. The judge concluded that Neon should receive further treatment.
Sally has aired fears over the use of radiotherapy, as she does not want her son to suffer any possible long-term effects. But it was revealed in court that an MRI scan has shown there is residue from a previous operation.
“I have reflected on the mother's concerns and no one could fail to sympathise with her, or indeed with the father,” said the judge.
The judge added: “I have weighed up the risk factors. It is obvious, and known to everyone, that all operations carry risks and this is no exception.
“But taking this on balance … I am quite satisfied that surgery is in his best interests and I shall make a decision accordingly so it can go ahead.”
It is thought there will be a ruling before Christmas as to whether further treatment will be issued to Neon.
On 7th December a hearing found out that Doctors were recommending for Neon to have radiotherapy.
