Radio One breakfast DJ Chris Moyles has lost nearly 300,000 listeners, according to new figures published this week.
The Chris Moyles Show attracted 7.44million listeners a week in the three months leading up to 26 June, which is down compared to the 7.72m people who were listening at the same time last year.
Rival DJ Chris Evans, who presents the breakfast show on BBC Radio Two, also performed poorly when it came to the new figures, but still managed to attract more listeners than Moyles this quarter.
However, it wasn't all bad news for the BBC, as their Radio Four flagship programme, Today, climbed to 7.18m weekly listeners; an improvement on last year's 6.98m.
Commercial stations Capital, Heart, and Bauer stations such as Key 103 are all celebrating due to gaining listeners.
Richard Park, Director of Broadcasting at Global Radio said:
"The Heart and Capital Networks have secured excellent results this quarter showing further consolidation of the networks – it’s been another great quarter for us!"
The research was carried out by Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR) and published on 4 August 2011.
