Morrissey halts autobiography at last minute

Morrissey, the former Smiths frontman, has pulled his autobiography three days before it was due to be released.

Three days before Morrissey’s autobiography was due to be released, the former Smiths frontman, released a statement on his fan website saying there was “last minute content disagreement with its publisher.”

The autobiography is believed to contain details about the musician’s life growing up in Manchester and his relationship with Johnny Marr.

Meanwhile, A Penguin Books spokeswoman, confirmed the disagreement. In a statement, she said: "Although Morrissey's autobiography was set to be available throughout the UK on September 16th, a last-minute content disagreement between Penguin Books and Morrissey has caused the venture to collapse.”

"No review copies were printed and Morrissey is now in search of a new publisher."

This is considered to be the latest setback for the 54-year-old singer. Earlier this year, he was forced to cancel his US tour after suffering from a series of “medical mishaps.” Part of his South American tour was also cancelled due to “lack of funding.”
