Morissette marries rap star

Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette has married her rap star lover Souleye, it has been confirmed.

The couple got married at their home, before announcing the news on websites Twitter and Facebook. Morissette wrote: "Hi guys! So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married."

Morissette, 36, and Grammy award winner Souleye, whose real name is Mario Treadway, got married weeks ago at the small ceremony in Los Angeles, according to People magazine but have only recently announced it.

Morissette said that they were "very excited to embark on this journey".

Morissette  broke into the mainstream with her 1995 hit album 'Jagged Little Pill', which saw her abandon the dance-pop style of her previous two albums and move into a more rock-influenced sound that proved to be her trademark.

It spawned the singles 'You Oughta Know', 'Hand in my Pocket', 'Ironic' and 'All I Really Want', eventually becoming one of the most successful albums of all time. She was previously engaged to 'The Proposal' actor Ryan Reynolds who is now married to Scarlett Johansson.
