More snow to affect the UK this week

Monday morning brings more snow problems for the country as schools are closed and flights are cancelled

Weather forecasters have predicted more snow for Britain, with Monday morning seeing much chaos being caused by the weather. At least 3,000 schools have been closed, and there has also been much travel chaos.

 

Airports are being affected in the East Midlands as well as the North-West of England, with some flights being suspended. This includes certain flights at Manchester airport.

 

This comes after problems were caused because of snow last week, where 170 flights were cancelled at London's Heathrow airport on Friday morning.

 

Of the areas to have beenh hit hard by snow, Yorkshire in particular has seen around 600 schools being closed, with the Midlands also seeing hundreds of schools having to close their doors on Monday.

 

There are 'amber' warnings in place for parts of northern Britain as well as southern areas of Scotland where snow is expected to continue falling. Based on reports, upto 20cm (approximately 8inches) of snow could fall on Monday.

 

Last week parts of Wales were badly hit by the weather as Britain's 'big freeze' caused problems for airports, trains and schools as well as for road users.

 

Train routes have been affected in London, with delays for some services being experienced by commuters and travellers.

 

Three people have died after an avalanche fell in the Highlands in Scotland on Saturday.

 

Road users are being urged to take care when driving in the snow, as the conditions could be icey.
