Joe Carnahan has decided that he will not be directing "Mission: Impossible 3" following creative differences.
The Hollywood Reporter has said that this will not affect plans for the film to begin shooting in Berlin next month.
"M:I-3," sees Tom Cruise return to the role of secret agent Ethan Hunt, with Scarlett Johansson, Kenneth Branagh, Carrie-Anne Moss and Ving Rhames starring alongside him.
The first film in the series, made in 1996, was directed by Brian De Palma and the 2000 sequel was directed by John Woo.
The film has had its released date pencilled in for June 29th next year - although there has been no word on who will replace Carnahan.
