A British food shop owner operating in Canada has reported that some of his classic British products including Penguin Bars, Lucozade, Marmite, Ovaltine, Bovril and Irn Bru have been declared illegal.
Safety officials removed the products from Tony Badger's shelves due to the illegal additives in the items.
Tony Badger, who owns Brit Foods in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, told local media that food safety officials had removed the foods from his shelves.
Badger stated that he had been selling the items since 1997 without problems.
He told CKOM: "We've been bringing Irn-Bru in since the very beginning.
"My understanding was we were importing legally. We've been declaring it through a customs broker and we've never had an issue until now.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recently been stepping up its operations to sieze items that do not adhere to the nation's approved food list.
Speaking of the CFIA's confiscations of his stock and blockings of his imports, Badger stated: "The concern now is, with the next shipment, if it gets held there may be new issues with new products, so it somewhat paralyses our ability to bring new product in.
"I haven't heard of anyone dying from consuming Irn-Bru in Scotland or Britain. So hopefully we will get a favourable decision."
