Coronation Street's Maria Sutherland is set to try and get over former fiance Nick Tilsley through internet dating.

Maria and Nick have been left on rocky ground after Nick's ex-wife Leanne returned to the Street and vowed to break up the happy couple.

Leanne wins out and Nick ups sticks and quits Weatherfield for pastures new (again).

But Maria, played by sexy Samia Ghadie, will get more than she bargained for when she is made an offer online that she might find hard to refuse.

"Surveys indicate that most men who seek romance [online] are merely seeking women for sex," a Street insider told the Daily Star today.

"Put it this way, she's not going to find Mr Right on the net," they commented.

But this is not where the online offers end.

"At some time in the future, Maria will be offered the tempting opportunity to join an exclusive internet escort agency.

"It's put to her that she likes sex - so why not take advantage of something she likes to get herself the best things in life."
