Manchester-based Britpop rockstar decapitated following lorry smash

Jeff Fletcher, the guitarist in rock band Northern Uproar, died in a horrific road smash involving a lorry.

Manchester-based rockstar Jeff Fletcher, the former guitarist in rock band Northern Uproar, was decapitated in a horrific accident with lorry it has now been revealed.

 

The 36-year-old was a pedestrian on Wellington Road South, Stockport centre, when he was hit by a lorry on Monday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a severe head injury. 

 

Tributes have been paid to the guitarist following the horrific accident. 

 

Friend Leon Meya of Herald Green, told the Manchester Evening News: “Jeff was a gentleman and my friend since the age of five, we grew up together and went through school.
