Is there a secret to making the most of your 24 hours? If there is, Beyonce might just hold it. The 34-year-old is not just a singer and songwriter but also an actor, dancer, businesswoman, charity founder, wife and a mother. She may have a team doing menial tasks of life, but Jay-Z’s wife puts her success down to self-sacrifice and hard work.
But is there something that we can learn from Beyonce and other over achievers or are their brains wired differently?
Professor Stafford Lightman from the University of Bristol said that multi-taskers might actually have biology on their side.
"Everybody has slightly different connectivity in their brain and different parts are more effective than others," he said.
He said that individuals with the ability to compartmentalise typically achieve more.
He added: "You can train your brain, within limits. Politicians train themselves to remember names. I'm useless at it - but if I really applied myself then sure, I'd be able to remember."
Tips on how to maximise your time according to multi-taskers and over achievers:
1. Short deadlines – Use every minute and stick to time limits
2. Ringfence – Free up 4.5 hours by isolating 90 minutes three times a week
3. Persevere – Know you can do it but take your time to get it right
4. Focus – Concentrate on the task on hand and do not get sidetracked no matter what
