Madonna, The Material Girl singer, has been named by Forbes as the biggest-earning celebrity in the world. Based on reports, the 55-year-old pop star made an estimated £80million courtesy of her successful MDNA tour, fragrance, and clothing lines. Forbes added that last year was Madonna’s biggest year in terms of earnings since it began tracking her income since 1999.
Director Steven Spielberg came in at number two with estimated earnings of £64million.
Meanwhile, the number 3 spot is being shared by EL James, the author of widely successful novel Shades of Grey, Simon Cowell, and Howard Stern. They each made £61million.
The next spot belongs to James Patterson, the thriller writer who made £58.5million. He is followed by TV and radio host Glenn Beck who earned an estimated £57.8million.
Other celebrities who are included in the top 10 rich list are Michael Bay (£52.7million), Jerry Bruckheimer (£51.4million), and pop star Lady Gaga (£51.4million).
