Courtney Love has written a song about rocker Pete Doherty on her latest album.
The former Hole singer - who is renowned for her own drug use - has decided to dedicate a track to the Babyshambles singer's excesses.
Courtney, widow of the late Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, is currently in the studio recording the album, called 'Sunset Marquise'.
Meanwhile, Love has sold part of Nirvana's back catalogue for £29 million.
The troubled rocker has sold the 25 per cent share in the group's publishing rights for the huge sum to former Virgin Records general manager Larry Mestel.
Love has admitted she has found managing Cobain's estate since he killed himself in 1994 "overwhelming" and she believes the rights are now in good hands with Mestel.
She said: "I need a partner to take Kurt Cobain's songs and bring them into the future and the next generation."
She also reassured worried Nirvana fans the music would be used in a "tasteful" fashion.
