London’s Victoria station evacuated due to fire on train

Victoria train station was evacuated after a fire was discovered on a train on Thursday morning, affecting rush hour travellers

London’s Victoria station was evacuated on Thursday morning following a fire being discovered on a train. The carriage found to be alight was a Gatwick Express train. The station is now thought to have been re-opened.

 

The blaze, which was attended to byLondon fire fighters who extinguished the fire, also had an effect on London’s morning traffic.

 

Commuters and rail users faced travel problems because of the incident which affected rush hour.

 

Due to the train fire, many train services were delayed and even cancelled as the situation was dealt with.

 

According to sources, no-one was injured as a result of the fire. It is believed that smoke was visible at the scene.

 

Victoria station is one of London’s busiest train stations and is situated in the centre of the city.

 

This news comes around 24 hours after a helicopter crashed into a crane on a building site in Vauxhall, London, which is also situated near to London’s River Thames.
