Lindsay Lohan was tricked into exchanging flirty text messages by a man pretending to be hunky star Jason Lewis.

The prankster left a message for the 'Mean Girls' star on her hotel voicemail, pretending to be actor Lewis - who played Smith Jerrod in 'Sex and the City'.

He invited Lindsay for a drink in the hotel bar, but although she couldn't make the date, the pair reportedly spent the following week texting each other.

The trickster was finally rumbled when Lindsay invited him to a party at New York nightspot Bungalow 8.

Lewis, 34, who is dating 'Sin City' star Rosario Dawson, 26, told America's New York Daily News newspaper: "It's mean. The guy was trying to set her up. I think he's a creep."

Meanwhile, Lindsay has revealed she is planning to take time out from her music and movie career to become a student.

The 19-year-old star revealed: "I would go to New York University.

"I'm a New York girl, and it's easy to get to London and LA from here."
