'Lost' star Evangeline Lilly is furious about new security measures at airports - because it means she can't sew during flights.

The actress, who plays Kate in the hit US TV show, has complained that tight restrictions on items allowed to be carried on as hand luggage mean she can no longer enjoy her favourite pastime.

She said: "What drives me crazy is that I can't bring my needle and thread on a plane. I really like to sew."

Meanwhile, Lilly has revealed she pleased 'Lost' received no nominations at this year's Emmy Awards - because she didn't want the cast and crew to become arrogant.

She said: "My first reaction to it was, 'Good.' I don't want us all to become righteous, so above everything else, that we're untouchable.

"When we started, our big question was, 'Will anybody even watch this show?' And then when people started watching we were thrilled. And then when we got recognised critically, we were beside ourselves.

"So, when we didn't get nominated, all we had to do was remember where we came from."
