There is only one thing Coronation Street's Les Battersby loves more than money and that's rock legends Status Quo.
So when his rock n' roll heroes offer to play at his and Cilla's wedding to apologise for beating up their fanatical fan outside the Rovers, Les is more than happy to forget the idea of suing the band for his injuries.
Corrie fans watching the soap on Friday night saw Les floored by Quo front man Francis Rossi when he recognised the Weatherfield winger as a deranged fan who assaulted him at a past concert.
Cilla, who vows to take the band to the cleaners over the attack on her fiance, is subsequently stunned when professional scrounger Les decides giving up the money for a personal Status Quo gig will be worth every penny.
"Les is over the moon, hes ecstatic that his idols are going to be at his wedding, and he keeps telling everyone," said actor Bruce Jones, who plays the character.
"The money doesnt matter to him, its not about that, but Cilla doesnt see it that way."
"Shes not happy and they have a big showdown in the Rovers. She doesnt understand the fanatical side of Les when it comes to the Quo," he added.
But it seems that it isn't just Les who is keen on the Quo. Jones admits that he is just as smitten as his character when it comes to the rockers.
"I love going to the concerts - theyre wild," he admitted.
