'Legally Blonde' is to be made into a Broadway show.
The movie series made a household name of Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon who starred as bimbo-turned- politician, Elle Woods.
The stage production - which is due to open in New York next spring (07) - will be based on both the movies and the book that inspired them.
The show - which has not yet been cast - will be directed by Jerry Mitchell, who won a prestigious Tony Award last year for choreographing 'La Cage aux Folles'.
He said: "I love the story. It's so positive, especially for young girls to believe in themselves. And it's fun to root for a leading character you care about."
'Legally Blonde' is the latest in a long line of films to be adapted for the stage.
Recent shows include 'The Producers', 'Spamalot' - which was based on 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' - 'Footloose', 'The Lion King' and 'The Colour Purple'.
Meanwhile, Broadway versions of 'High Fidelity' and 'The Wedding Singer' are also in the works.
