Kylie Minogue has made a surprise visit to meet children orphaned by the Asian tsunami.
The cancer-stricken singer jetted to Sri Lanka to meet youngsters in the Children of the Sea theatre group, formed in the wake of the tragedy.
The diminutive star - who is patron of the group but had been unable to visit while she was being treated for breast cancer - even joined some of the children for a ride on an elephant.
She said: "I was so happy to finally meet the children. Their triumph through adversity is inspiring."
Group director Toby Gough said: "Kylie has been a supporter of Children of the Sea from the beginning.
"Though I had often asked her to visit us here in Sri Lanka, her arrival was a total surprise - the children were overjoyed."
Meanwhile, it has been revealed Kylie's recovery from cancer is going so well her hair is beginning to grow back.
The 'Slow' singer lost her blonde locks after having chemotherapy last year, and often covered her baldness with headscarves.
Although the 37-year-old is still wearing them in public, she now takes them off in private to reveal her new short, straight, spiky hair.
