Knife-wielding trespasser arrested at Buckingham Palace

A man has tried to access the main staff entrance of Buckingham Palace while carrying a knife.

In another story of trespassing at Buckingham Palace, a man has recently tried to access the main staff entrance while carrying a knife.

44-year-old David Belmar was caught by police at the Queen’s London home and was charged with trespass and possession of a blade. The spokesman for the Buckingham Palace said that the Queen was not in residence when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, a Scotland Yard spokesman said that the man is now being held overnight and would be taken to West London Magistrates Court in Hammersmith tomorrow.

This isn’t the first time that someone tried to gain access to Buckingham Palace. Six weeks ago, another man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. Another man was arrested in the street outside of the palace on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

In 1982, a 30-year-old man broke into the Queen’s palace chambers. She woke up to find him sitting on the bed.

With the birth of Prince George and the ongoing threat of terror attacks, many have stated that now is a crucial time to ensure that Buckingham Palace is completely secure.
