Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe have allegedly become embroiled in a furious row amid reports their new movie 'Eucalyptus' has been cancelled.
Their long-time friendship hit trouble after Crowe launched a tirade on celebrities who appear in advertisements.
The screen beauty, who was recently paid £2million to star in a four-minute Chanel commercial, was reportedly furious and hurt by Crowe's comments.
The actor told Australia's GQ magazine: "I don't used my celebrity to make a living. To me it's sacrilegious - it's a complete contradiction of the ****ing social contract you have with the audience."
Although he didn't mention the beautiful actress by name, a source revealed: "They had a huge shouting match and she is feeling very hurt. Nicole was really upset."
It was also claimed their relationship was put under further strain after Crowe reportedly demanded the movie script be re-written at the eleventh hour.
Crowe's alleged demands resulted in filming being cancelled just days before it was due to start.
An insider said: "Russell thought his role needed to be beefed up."
