Keith Richards no longer remembers all Rolling Stone hits

The group has just celebrated their 50th year in the industry and have released hundreds of singles and more than two dozen studio albums. With such a storied and packed discography, it’s to be expected that even the stars of the Rolling Stones will find it hard to keep track, even of the songs that they themselves had written. 

 

Keith Richards, now 68, is the lead guitarist for the Rolling Stones, and he has recently revealed that he finds it difficult to remember some of the hits that he and Mick Jagger had written together, which includes Satisfaction and Jumpin’ Jack Flash.

 

But even if he can’t remember all the song titles, his fingers can perform all the chords correctly on their own. “When you kick off a song, you say ‘I can’t remember how the middle bit goes’, but the fingers remember even if you don’t,” he says in an interview with Absolute Radio.

 

He also says that he hasn’t been practising as much as he should, but will be ‘getting the chops back together’ now that the Stones are putting their act together again to celebrate their 50th anniversary. This will increase the number of their over 40 tours by yet another one.
