Kate Winslet’s bizarre bird hat turns head at Buckingham Palace as she collects her award

Kate Winslet’s bizarre bird splat hat turned head as the Oscar winner collected her CBE at Buckingham Palace.

 

The 37-year-old actress looked magnificent in a sober black trouser suit.

 

She was rewarded for her contribution to the entertainment industry and for her charity work.

Her Majesty pinned the prize on Kate’s lapel and asked how much she liked acting.

 

The Titanic star reportedly responded that although she likes it, she still considers being a mother the best job.

Kate has two children; 12-year-old Mia with first husband Jim Threapleton and eight-year-old Joe with second husband Sam Mendes.

Kate talked about her CBE award later on saying it was “incomparably overwhelming.”

She added: “The sense of gravity is enormous and you very much feel you are being acknowledged by the whole country in a way.”
