Actress Kate Ford has finally confirmed she is quitting 'Coronation Street'.
The stunning star, who plays scheming super-bitch Tracy Barlow in the hit soap, will make her explosive exit next spring (2007).
It was reported in June that Ford was leaving the show, but 'Corrie' bosses repeatedly denied the rumours.
However, the actress has now revealed she is definitely leaving the show after having a lot of fun playing the character - dubbed "Toxic Tracy" because of her despicable behaviour, which included trying to sell her baby Amy to Roy Cropper and his wife Haley.
She told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It has been the best time of my life playing Tracy Barlow. I cannot wait to see what the writers have in store for her."
Although she is definitely leaving the show, producer Steve Frost insists the character viewers love to hate will not be killed off - leaving the door open for a possible return.
Frost said: "Kate will be involved in a major storyline which will see her leave next spring. Kate is a great asset. Her character, Tracy, has left the cobbles before and we hope she will return one day."
