In preparation for the UK’s biggest air show in Farnborough, Surrey, the pilots of a Boeing Dreamliner have been captured on video manoeuvring the planes with fighter jet-style fluidity. From a terrifying vertical climb after take-off to a series of dramatic turns, the pilots proved that commercial planes can perform jet-style tricks too.
The show is an opportunity for aviation companies such as Boeing and Airbus to showcase their planes, alongside defence industry aircraft.
Many social networkers who have seen the video online shared their astonishment that the jet was capable of performing such stunts. A user called FlightChops said: "Wow – it climbs like a rocket.”
Paul Kidd added: "Jeez that looks like fun (for the pilot … terrifying if you were a passenger)"
And others called for yet more tricks, with spaceye challenging: 'Do a barrel roll'.
The 260ft-plane, which is super lightweight, is being put through its paces as part of a demonstration to aviation industry executives.
The Boeing Dreamliner aims to be more fuel efficient and it plans on using innovative lighting to help passengers ward off jetlag.
