Two men have been arrested after allegedly plotting to kidnap and murder soul singer Joss Stone, it has been revealed.
The pair are being held in custody after police found them near 24-year-old Stone's Devon mansion with weapons, believed to be swords, and other items such as a rope, maps and a body bag.
The men, aged 30 and 33, were initially arrested on 14 June for being in possession of offensive weapons and being equipped to steal.
However they are now being questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and murder.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said:
"Police attended an address in Cullompton yesterday morning after alert residents notified officers about a suspicious-looking vehicle.
"Officers attended the area at around 10am and subsequently arrested the occupants of a red Fiat Punto.
"Major crime detectives are continuing to investigate."
Stone, who released her first album at the age of 15, is the fifth richest British popstar under 30, with an estimated fortune of £9million.
Close friends with Prince William, she was a guest at the royal wedding back in April.
