Acid tongued Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell has plans to make glamour-puss Jordan the queen of Saturday night television.

Cowell has lined up the star of I'm A Celebrity to present his latest reality programme for ITV.

While the exact format of the new show - which will not be music based - is being kept under wraps, Cowell did say: "I'm very excited about it and Jordan will be perfect for it."

Jordan - real name Katie Price - has not committed to the programme yet, but is widely tipped to sign.

And Cowell is convinced she is right for the job.

"I desperately want her to do it," he said.

Cowell will not appear in the programme himself, but his Syco production company will produce it.

"[Jordan] is going to play a great role in it . . . I like her as a person and I like her honesty."
