Investigators at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) have submitted a report detailing allegations against Jimmy Savile.
They said that the DJ and TV presenter has sexually abused more victims including men, women, boys, and girls over five decades. Reports added that Savile had assisted in bed baths at hospitals and may even have sexually abused dead bodies in mortuary.
Among the 60 people who came forward to report abuse include three victims who claimed to have been raped – one medical secretary and two female hospital visitors.
Two witnesses told the investigators that Savile wore huge rings made from the glass eyes of deceased patients at the hospital - archive pictures of rings matching this description were published in national news publications.
However, investigators admitted that they cannot verify the claims.
LGI lead investigator Dr Sue Proctor told a news conference: "We have no way of verifying the allegations … but his interest in the dead was pretty unwholesome.
"Restrictions on his access to the mortuary were not robust."
Although staff was told about some of the incidents, it emerged that the allegations were not reported to hospital bosses.
