Jeremy Vine Fine For Strictly?

Jeremy Vine is the first celebrity confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing.

It has been confirmed that Jeremy Vine has signed up for Strictly Come Dancing, as confirmed on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.

 

Speaking on the radio show, he said: "They asked me and I just turned 50 this year and I've got to start dancing properly.

 

"Three weeks ago, I only told my daughters and my wife.

 

"I said to my daughters, who are 8 and 11, this could be exciting to see your dad or it could be more scary than Doctor Who.

 

"The eldest daughter said if you want to do it dad do it."

Jeremy will turn 50 next year.

 

He said: "When I turned 50 I thought, 'I've got to do stuff, like I listen to music I don't like now.'

"I want to do stuff that avoids my brain narrowing. I wouldn't naturally do it."

 

He added: "I had to do a medical for it. I went to this doctor's surgery. I said it's Jeremy Vine and they said they don't have anyone down for it.

 

"We've all been named after Disney characters and I'm Nemo."
