Jenson Button For Top Gear?

Formula 1 driver Jenson Button has been tipped to join Chris Evans on Top Gear.

Formula 1 driver Jenson Button could join Chris Evans as Top Gear’s presenter, if there’s any truth to latest speculations about the show.

 

Jenson has appeared on the original twice as a celebrity guest but a source confirms that he is set for a much longer stint. The source said: “An announcement is imminent.”

 

Chris and Jenson are good friends and the racing driver appeared on his Radio 2 breakfast show in July 2013.

 

Further fuelling the speculations is Jenson’s admission earlier this month that he would be “pretty happy” with his achievements if he retired from F1.

 

He said: “I would be pretty happy if I retired now with my career in terms of achievements. I would love to win the British Grand Prix, I would love to even be on the podium."

 

Evans was confirmed as the Top Gear host last month but his fellow presenters are yet to be named. One of the potential candidate is Jodie Kidd who insisted that the show needs a “woman’s touch.”
