Jennifer Ellison: From 'Chicago' to New York

Jennifer Ellison will fly to New York next week for meetings with Broadway theatre bosses.

They reportedly want the 22-year-old to star in the US production of musical 'Chicago'.

It follows the former 'Brookside' babe's successful stint playing Roxie Hart in the London production of the show, for which she earned rave reviews in the press

An insider told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Jennifer has really impressed the Broadway bigwigs in New York. They want her to jet out next week to meet them for crucial talks. They want to discuss a mega-money deal with Jennifer about the possibility of her playing Roxie on Broadway.

"She is really excited about the prospect, but obviously has a lot on at the moment. But it's highly likely she'll take them up on their offer as she prefers stage work to screen."

Previously, British TV babe Denise Van Outen played Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of the show.
