Jade shoplifting nightmare

Jade Goody has been arrested for shoplifting - and released without charge.

The 'Big Brother' star, currently appearing in her own reality show, 'Jade's Salon', was questioned by police last night (03.10.05) on suspicion of stealing a denim waistcoat, worth £16, from Asda supermarket.

But officers let her go without charge after she convinced them she had paid for the jacket.

Jade, who has made millions since her stint in the 'Big Brother' house, got into trouble after a security tag, which had been left on the waistcoat, set off alarms as she left the store after her weekly shop.

When called back by security guards, the mother-of-two insisted she had paid for the top, but had left the receipt at the till.

Staff believed her story, however, she was later called in by police when the missing receipt couldn't be found.

Jade's spokesman told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She did not do anything wrong. As far as she is concerned she went into the store and purchased a number of items of clothing before leaving. She thought Asda staff mistakenly left the tag on the jacket."
