Michael Jackson is quitting the US for good, it has been claimed.
The eccentric singer, who was summoned for Californian jury service this week, has been living in Bahrain as a guest of the royal family since being cleared of child sex abuse charges earlier this year.
Jackson - currently in London to record a Hurricane Katrina charity single - was rumoured to be planning to turn his back on the States after the way he was treated during his trial.
Now Santa Barbara Court spokesman Gary Blair, whose staff had to contact the singer's legal team to discuss the jury summons, claims he was informed Jackson is changing his permanent address to somewhere outside the US and has no intention of returning to his homeland.
Blair is quoted by America's New York Post newspaper as saying: "Our jury services supervisor spoke with Jackson's attorney a couple of days ago and he notified her that Mr. Jackson was in Bahrain and that he would be changing his permanent address to somewhere other than the ranch."
It is not yet known whether the 'Billie Jean' singer plans to continue to reside in Bahrain or relocate to another country.
