Jack Tweed has been arrested following a police investigation into an allegation of sexual assault.
The widower of reality TV star Jade Goody, who died in March, was arrested on Friday morning, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Tweed, along with a second man, were held after a 19-year-old woman accused him of attempted rape.
The woman is understood to have met Tweed at Embassy nightclub in Mayfair on Thursday night before being invited to his Essex home.
A Met Police spokesman said: "A female in her late teens made an allegation of sexual assault this morning. The alleged incident occurred in the Redbridge area in the early hours.
"Two men in their twenties have been arrested in connection with the inquiry which is ongoing. Redbridge CID is dealing with the investigation."
Tweed has regularly been in the headlines since his wife's death from cervical cancer. Just weeks after her funeral, he was pictured partying in nightclubs across London.
He has also faced eviction following a series of loud, alcohol-fuelled parties.
In May, he was released from jail after serving half of a 12-week sentence for assault against a taxi driver.
