Based on the reports from the Syrian town of Tal Abyad, members of extremist group ISIS threw a man from a seven storey tower simply ‘because he was gay’. Although he survived the fall, he was stoned to death on the ground.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the man’s crime was to have a “homosexual affair.”
The man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was seen on a white plastic chair flanked by two masked men in dark clothing and army fatigues. He was pushed right after he was read a judgment and sentence.
He was later seen sitting up as onlookers gather around him. He was then stoned until he died.
In November, a similar incident took place when two men were stoned to death in the Syrian city of Raqqa. In December, another gay man was thrown off a rooftop and stoned to death for committing an alleged act of blasphemy.
