Indiana Jones beat James Bond and was hailed as the greatest movie character of all time. Harrison Ford, who made the character famous, also took third place for his role as Han Solo in the Star Wars film in a poll voted for Empire magazine newspaper.
Ford played Jones in four films, starting with Raiders Of The Lost Ark in 1981 and most recently in 2008's Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
Meanwhile, both the characters were created by Director George Lucas.
Meanwhile, British spy James Bond, took the second place. It was played by numerous actors including Sean Connery, Roger Moore, David Niven, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.
Ellen Ripley, Sigourney Weaver’s character in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic alien is the only female character that made it to the list.
The poll, which was participated by 10,000 people, also voted the greatest TV characters.
