Beyonc has revealed that her pregnancy has made her feel "empowered".
The Best Thing I Never Had singer spoke to Entertainment Tonight Canada about her impending new arrival, saying:
Its been great. I feel free. I feel very empowered."
However, she also admitted that she was worried how the news would be received by her fans:
"I was just wondering how it's going to be when one day I am pregnant and everyone's like, 'Oh God, I don't want to hear this again'."
The 30-year-old star announced that she and rapper husband Jay-Z were expecting their first child, live on stage at this years MTV Video Music Awards.
The Oscar-nominated actress also spoke of her joy at not simply releasing a statement with the news, instead just showing off her bump to the audience:
"But I'm happy that people were happy and I actually didn't announce it in a statement. I said it's better to just show everyone."
Beyonc also recently spoke about taking some time off from her hectic schedule, telling the Associated Press:
"When you are excited about something, you dont have to think about your energy. It is natural and comes from adrenaline.
"It is important that I dont look at this as like an illness. I am not sick. I am the same woman and I have the same passions."
