Liz Hurley has taken to her Twitter page to dismiss rumours that she is cheating on her husband with former cricketer Shayne Warne.

The 45-year-old actress and model had been pictured over the weekend enjoying the Australian's company, sparking rumours she was having an affair, but Hurley has claimed that she has in fact been separated from her husband, Arun Nayar, for months.

Speaking via the social networking site, she addressed the allegations by saying: “For the record, my husband Arun and I separated a few months ago. Our close family and friends were aware of this.”

She did not, however, refer to Shayne Warne during her statement, although the News Of The World claims to have a video of the pair sharing an intimate embrace.

The former cricketer and the actress first met in July at Goodwood races, where they were pictured laughing and talking closely.

They have recently been seen exchanging bizarre messages over Twitter and have also reportedly spent two nights together in a hotel just one mile from LizÂ’s home.

Rumours then began to surface about the couple, who tied the knot in a lavish wedding in 2007.

Shayne Warne, who has three children, has been separated from his ex-wife since 2009, although he still shares a home with her in Melbourne.
