Oscar winning actress Jennifer Hudson is pregnant, according to reports.

Hudson, who first found fame on 'American Idol', and her fianc David Otunga are expecting their first child together.

The Chicago Sun Times claims that the 'Dreamgirls' actress is seven months pregnant and recently celebrated by having a baby shower with her family and friends.

A source close to the star, told the paper: "It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family, they're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."

Last year Hudson was left heartbroken when her mother, brother and young nephew were shot dead in Chicago.

She and her partner met in March 2008 and got engaged six months later on her 27th birthday.
