Doing silly, awkward, or compromising things in order to fundraise for good causes always has the potential to make for a great time as well as doing something good. Plenty of impressive sacrifices have been made by people for charitable reasons, such as staunch football fans wearing their rivals kits, or putting on the pink dress and wig, parading themselves around in order to raise funds for such causes.
Fundraising is such a necessary thing to do because otherwise the great causes that people help out with would not be able to carry out their work. For veterans who have fought overseas in war for their country, many of those who return require help and support to get over injuries and traumas, as well as help reintegrating into society.
Thankfully there are some amazing people who donate their time and efforts to do what they can and improve lives, but funding allows for more support to be given, and allows more people to be involved with helping out our veterans where needed.
So what can people do? The exciting thing is that there are lots and lots of events that can be done to fundraise for charity. Some of these are such fun challenges it could be easy to forget there is even a cause to put the effort in for, as people just want to be involved in some of these adventures, happy for all of the proceeds to go to really useful causes at the same time.
Some of the things that can be done are super easy, and won’t require a lot of stress or energy. These can be from coordinating events where people help pack bags at supermarkets in return for donations, or even by paying gift aid on items as long as you are a UK taxpayer, which lets charities claim back some of the tax you pay on an item. For those who like to be social without exerting too much, holding a coffee morning can be a great way to get loads of people at an event, with all of the proceeds going on to helpful causes.
On the adventure side, there are many ways to do some challenging and fun tasks whilst helping to raise funds for a charity. One such popular event that takes place in the UK is also partnered up for charity, as Help for Heroes on Tough Mudder shows just how many people across the nation love the idea of getting stuck in and dirty in order to find a fun and exciting way of helping the veterans by completing a challenging obstacle course.
Participants have to fight their way through a whole host of barriers and physical obstacles while being covered in mud, and photographs taken afterwards always shows some delighted, muddy people looking satisfied that they have made it to the end.
It doesn’t have to be laborious to fundraise for our veterans, and it is great to know that doing something fun and exciting can also go and help some amazing causes.
