The classes that you take will dictate your schedule and whether or not you decide to work while at school is going to throw another wrench into the entire routine you have planned. One of the best things about trying to stay fit and healthy while studying for college is that you have options available to you that do not include going to the local gym.
Now that you have decided that it is time to get down to business and are planning to attend online courses, studying for them can take up a lot of your time. Online courses are nice because you hardly have to attend an actual campus, but there is still a lot of hard work to do. Even if you are just going back to college to earn your MBA, for example, the workload is something you will need to prepare for. Besides that, you are likely to be juggling a job and possibly trying to raise a family as well. Being able to study the online MBA curriculum and pass classes is the goal, but staying fit during the process is essential.
The main goal is to keep a fit body and mind during your studying days. It makes your day a better one and the energy you will have is going to help you stay focused on your daily studying tasks. Most routines recommend that you aim for at least two hours of moderate workout per week. Even with a week full of classes and/or work, you should be able to find two hours a week to dedicate to staying fit! Simple things like jogging on the spot, doing yoga, skipping rope and doing jumping jacks are all great ways to keep your body moving and pumped full of natural energy. Other workouts that you can attempt include pushups, chair dips, squats and crunches, which can all be performed without leaving the house.
As with any workout or diet you are trying to stick to, motivation might be the hardest part to overcome. Stay motivated by scheduling time to do a simple workout, as that will give you and end goal. Step on the scale once per week to monitor your weight and make goals as a way to stay motivated by keeping your best result in mind. Finding friends to workout with is a good way to stay motivated and having someone else there to hold you accountable can really drive motivation.
Studying online MBA vs on-campus MBA courses can mix things up a little when considering your regular workout routine. Being on campus you might have access to a gym, whereas studying online leaves you with the options you have at home. You should not be discouraged; simple workouts can be done in your home to help you stay fit while studying.
