As we move into the festive season, there are so many more opportunities to meet a man. Shopping, celebrations and parties all provide ideal mating ground. But how do you make the most of them?
Here are the top tips to making sure that you have a different kind of present to unwrap this Christmas!
Be ready
Make sure you look presentable whenever you're out in public, even if it's just going round the supermarket.
Go man shopping
Be ready and open to all opportunities. While Christmas shopping for your loved ones there are plenty of males doing the same, and as long as he's not buying a present for his lady, it could be a great way to meet a man.
For a conversation starter, why not ask for help with something? For example, if you're buying a digital photo frame for your folks, ask him if he knows what the difference is between the two types on the shelf. You may even know the answer but a guy likes to be the hero. Simply saying "Hi" and asking a question is an instant ice breaker.
Scan the room
Keep your eyes open to any potential males. Be friendly to everyone from the bouncers to the door staff. Everybody looks better with a smile. This kind of confidence is also attractive and show a man your a great girl to be with.
Is he single?
Things such as him wearing a wedding ring or shopping for women's lingerie are obviously a sure fire way to tell he's off the market. But there are other things that may tell you whether he's single or not. Does he have any tattoos with a woman's name on it?
If you're in the supermarket, take a peek inside his basket or trolley. If there are nappies, then your answer's simple, but if it's beer and cheese, chances are he's single.
When you're in a bar or at a party, you're looking for a man who's not deeply engaged in conversation. He may be with a group of friends but actively watching the room.
You can also try these questions to find out if he's attached:
Body language is key
Eye contact is a powerful thing. Make eye contact with an object of desire, hold for three seconds, and then look away. Repeat. If he's interested, you've given him a pretty clear signal that it's safe to head your way. If a guy makes eye contact with you two or three times chances are he likes you too. Flash him a smile and remain cool and playful and wait for him to come over!
Conversation starters
You have his attention, what next? Here are some ice breakers:
Closing the deal
If you don't feel comfortable asking or his digits, try something like asking is he's on Facebook. As he answers, interrupt saying "Actually, you know what I don't really go on it that much , just give me your number instead."
Keeping him
Guys are wired differently to girls. They can't cope with deep emotions and any signs of you being clingy orneedy will make him run a mile no matter how attractive or funny you are.
Don't make your life all about him. Stay in touch with friends, and keep up all the things you did before he came along.
