Oscar nominated actor Dennis Hopper has been admitted to hospital after developing flu-like symptoms.
The 73-year-old Hollywood veteran was taken to a New York clinic after complaining of stomach ailments and other complaints, his publicist Sheila Feren has confirmed.
The 'Easy Rider' director and 'Blue Velvet' star was forced to cancel a number of interviews and TV appearances as a result of his health complications.
When the illness began, Hopper was in New York promoting his TV series 'Crash', an adaptation of the popular 2004 Oscar-winning film.
Hopper plays a music producer in the drama regarding racial tensions in Los Angeles.
According to a report by Entertainment Tonight, the veteran actor was wearing an oxygen mask at the time of his admission.
