A recent study carried out by ebookers has uncovered that although most of us spend our working days dreaming about going on a holiday, almost half of us pine for home comforts while away.
The survey said that 42per cent admitted to missing their own bed more than they will miss their friends, family, or partner this summer while one in five can’t wait to go home to have a cup of tea.
One in ten said they will miss favourite TV series while 23per cent want to be with their pets while on a holiday.
Meanwhile, in a poll conducted by Co-operative Food, nearly two thirds of Brits admitted to bringing their favourite food while travelling with women more likely to pack their own teabags. As opposed to women, men are nearly 10per cent more likely to pack Brown sauce.
In addition, the poll found that three per cent of holidaymakers take their own instant mash potato.
Customer Director, Andrew Mann, from The Co-operative Food said: 'It’s clear from the research that the British do like their familiar food favourites whilst on holiday, but it’s interesting to see what they bring back with them too.
'We’re increasingly becoming a nation of spice lovers.
'Whilst British favourites will always remain on consumers shopping lists, we are seeing a growth in demand for international flavours, particularly Indian, Thai, Spanish and Mexican, as people want to replicate the flavours they’ve experienced abroad.'
