Renting a car during holiday season is very common for people who want to explore different places. If you’re one of them, it is beneficial to know the available holiday rental car insurance products that will protect you from unforeseen events. These are the following:
1.Third party insurance. This is the most common type of insurance that is being taken out by the hirer as it is required by law. This covers injury to passengers and damage to property. However, its coverage is very limited. It exclude fire and theft cover. Damage to the rental vehicle is also excluded.
2.Collision Damage Waiver Insurance(CDWI). You can supplement your third party insurance with this policy. This covers theft and damage. Usually, this is charged at a daily rate and may include a small excess. Items excluded are damage to windows, tires, and upholstery and loss of keys.
3.Full cover insurance. If you want absolute peace of mind, this one is for you. Although it is understandably more expensive compared to CDWI and third party coverage, it is comprehensive. It covers what the two previous policies cover plus it covers tyres, wheels, undercarriage, etc.
