Tim Henman has admitted that he knows little about the Spaniard who will present his first test at Wimbledon this year.
The British number one was drawn to play Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in the first round next week, a player he has never met before.
If he wins that then he is likely to face out-of-form Mark Philippoussis in the fourth round, before a possible meeting with world number two Andy Roddick in the semi-final.
But Henman is keeping his sights firmly on the world number 89 he meets on Tuesday.
"I don't know too much about him," Henman admitted about his first round opponent.
"The media guys tend to look a little bit further ahead, but I will be concerned about my first match on Tuesday.
"I am going to make sure I concentrate on what I am doing, and if I do that, I think I have got a good chance. I will concentrate on my practice between now and then, and come Tuesday that game will be the sole focus of my attention."
Hidalgo is a 26-year-old right-hander of little note on grass, and has only won five of his 14 matches this season. He was knocked out at the first stage of both the Australian and French Open this year.
