Keira Knightley has spoken out for the first time about her split from boyfriend Jamie Dornan.

The beautiful actress insists she is still friends with the handsome Irish model but is happy being single.

She revealed: "I'm extremely happy because I've been able to stay friends with every person I've had a relationship with.

"I was supposed to be 'gutted' and there was allegedly 'crisis talks'. It's all nonsense. I'm single and not looking for anyone."

Keira says her friends have been helping her through the break-up.

She said: "I'm lucky I have a great collection of mates and I can do my talking to them.

"Things change slowly and it isn't simply a matter of moving on. A relationship is complicated. It's not black and white - it's various shades of grey. So there's no way to explain what happened in a paragraph or two."

For the meantime, Keira - who plays Elizabeth Bennet in the new movie version of 'Pride and Prejudice' - is making do with her on-screen romances.

She added in an interview with Britain's Now magazine: "At least I'm enjoying plenty of on-screen romance with Mr Darcy."
